Remembering When…

Sunday, March 22, 2009 was exactly a year from when Easter was last year March 23, 2008. I was sick on Sunday and while I was laying in bed I remembered waking up really early that morning and making sure I had all of the items and baskets full of Easter Eggs for Journey Church’s Easter Sunday and the Egg hunt. It was so much fun. All the preparation that went into that day to make it special for the guests that attended was very memorable for me. I just hope that even though Journey Church is not open, I pray for those children that were a part of that day, and that they will see Jesus and know Him one day!

Everlasting God

Today Jon led worship for a Christian School’s Chapel here in Evansville.  It was so cool to hear a large group of children worshipping as Jon led.  It just touched me and reminded me that

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord

Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary

Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary

You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles                                                                                                           *Chris Tomlin

As Jon and I pray and seek God’s direction, and as we wait upon the Lord, we know that God is our strength and comfort.  I am thankful for the daily reminders that God is in control and we continue to pray and trust Him fully with our lives!

Sometimes it’s the Little Things

Somedays are good and I have pure joy and some days I feel discouraged and find myself looking for answers of why we are in this position of our lives. It is easy to feel down and even sorry for myself. This week I have been filled with joy by the little things sent from my parents and my niece and nephew.
God uses people to help you remember that you are not alone in this journey we call life.

St. Louis

Jon and I went to St. Louis last Saturday (it’s about 2 hours away). We made our first stop at a JITB (see post below) and the visited a couple malls, Union Station, and then The Arch.  It was a great day. Here are a few pics from the day.

JITB

Jack In The Box

Jon and I drove to St Louis, MO today and on our way we made sure we found us some JITB to eat. We miss us some since there are none in Indiana.
We also went to Red Robin for dinner. Man I miss those places to eat. I bet God did that on purpose so we wouldn’t get… Anyways. I enjoyed it soooo much.

Update on Dad

He is doing as well as expected 2 weeks out. He had a lot of pain right after the surgery. (I can’t even imagine after what they had to do). He had to stay overnight because the doctor wanted to monitor his pain level before he went home. He went back this week to get the 33 staples removed and get his new cast (see pic). He will wear that then get a new spring loaded sling in a couple weeks. The one thing that is keeping him calm is the dr told him that if anything gets loose or shaken up he will have to have surgery all over again. I have made a note to self,
“do not tear tendon in bicep”.
Thanks for your prayers.
I will be better at posting updates.
